APC CONVENTION: THE PRESIDENT HAS SPOKEN  By Alhaji Jemil Usman (The Young Alhaji)

I was over the moon when I read the all-important speech of President Muhammadu Buhari to the Progressive Governors forum where the President affirmed the consensus stand of the party. The unambiguous statement clearly stated that the infrastructural gains the APC government has been able to achieve cannot be compromised by being complacent. Therefore, we cannot allow the PDP of yesterday that destroyed our economy for 16 years even with the oil price benchmark of over $100 per barrel to return to power.  

As a matter of fact, the president has spoken the minds of the majority of All Progressives Congress members who have worked hard to build the party and wouldn’t want different interest to destabilize it.

Consequently, I want to therefore call on all the stakeholders to abide by the decision of Mr. President and desist from creating chaos within the party. Intelligence have it that some unscrupulous governors who are self-serving egomaniacal and solipsistic in nature are still planning to undermine the peaceful measures Mr. President has taken. These are the same governors who have been responsible for the perennial postponement of the APC national convention. They are nothing but insatiable gluttons. Who have used the ladder of the party to climb to the top but are determined to destroy the ladder so no one else could get to the top? 

Moreover, no governor is bigger than our party, the APC, you either align with the position of Mr. President on consensus or we throw you out. Afterall, you haven’t done anything to promote the name of the party positively, their actions and in actions have further dragged the party to the mud. Thank God for the noble efforts of our amiable President Muhammadu Buhari whose epoch-making infrastructural projects has continue to project the APC on a good light. 

In conclusion, with the emergence of a new National Working Committee set to come on board, I want to urge them to stand their foot firm on the ground against any accidental governor or stakeholders who try to tannish the image of our great party because our party will always be supreme above any self-preoccupied governor. 

Long live our great party, the APC, long live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
