APC CONVENTION: THE PRESIDENT HAS SPOKEN  By Alhaji Jemil Usman (The Young Alhaji) I was over the moon when I read the all-important speech of President Muhammadu Buhari to the Progressive Governors forum where the President affirmed the consensus stand of the party. The unambiguous statement clearly stated that the infrastructural gains the APC government has been able to achieve cannot be compromised by being complacent. Therefore, we cannot allow the PDP of yesterday that destroyed our economy for 16 years even with the oil price benchmark of over $100 per barrel to return to power.   As a matter of fact, the president has spoken the minds of the majority of All Progressives Congress members who have worked hard to build the party and wouldn’t want different interest to destabilize it. Consequently, I want to therefore call on all the stakeholders to abide by the decision of Mr. President and desist from creating chaos within the party. Intelligence have it that some unscrupulous go

GOVERNOR UZODINMA IS THE NEW BEAMING LIGHT OF APC (By Alhaji Jemil Usman (The Young Alhaji))

In March 2021, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma invited the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria to commission some laudable projects executed by the Sen. Hope Uzodinma’s led administration in Imo State. The projects amongst many were the Federal Secretariat road named after President Buhari, and that of Port Harcourt road. The President notably said “I am happy about the positive development taking place in Imo state, especially in the area of infrastructure in the state, within a very short period of time just in one year. I am also happy to learn from Governor Uzodinma that the policies of our administration and the manifesto of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), have greatly influenced his resolve to make a difference in Imo State. I pray that you will keep the flag flying.” The President added, “I call on Imo people to continue to support the Governor Uzodimma’s administration to provide more inf

MUHAMMED MUSA BELLO IS NOT FIT TO BE FCT MINISTER (By Alhaji Jemil Usman (The Young Alhaji))

When President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Alhaji Muhammed Musa Bello as the substantial Minister of the Federal Capital Territory in 2015, many of us thought he was going to manifest the good intentions of President Buhari by leveraging on the general acceptability of the President to transform the FCT into a real modern Federal capital city. Unfortunately, it has been the opposite. The FCT Ministry that was handled like a proper state under Mallam Nasir Elrufai and the Federal Capital Territory was properly managed including the Federal Capital Development Authority. But today one has to search on Google to even know the name of the FCT minister just to tell you how docile and ineffective he has been. Under ElRufai, people respected the rule of law and never gone against the lay down rules as there were consequences for erring citizens. The reverse is the case today. The supposed model for other cities in the country has now turned to a wasebin dumping ground for many people.

2023: WHY GOVERNOR BELLO SHOULD CALM DOWN AND WEIGH HIS OPTIONS Alhaji Jemil Usman (The Young Alhaji)

There is no doubt that the profile of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has risen beyond his state and he is now one of the frequently mention names at the national political fecundity. This is what consistency at the national scene has earned the governor. His pragmatism and openness on national issues has leapfrogged him above his peers and it is a good thing for the good people of Kogi State and there is no doubt that he will deliver God willing. Moreover, governor Bello’s popularity isn’t accidental as he has been working hard to establish a formidable team of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State and by extension, the dominance of the APC in Kogi is now being felt across board in Nigeria. However, I want His Excellency to thread with absolute caution and continue to maintain cordial relationships with party stakeholders. His Excellency, governor Bello should go with the party’s directive and work with all stakeholders to agree on
