MUHAMMED MUSA BELLO IS NOT FIT TO BE FCT MINISTER (By Alhaji Jemil Usman (The Young Alhaji))

 

When President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Alhaji Muhammed Musa Bello as the substantial Minister of the Federal Capital Territory in 2015, many of us thought he was going to manifest the good intentions of President Buhari by leveraging on the general acceptability of the President to transform the FCT into a real modern Federal capital city. Unfortunately, it has been the opposite.

The FCT Ministry that was handled like a proper state under Mallam Nasir Elrufai and the Federal Capital Territory was properly managed including the Federal Capital Development Authority. But today one has to search on Google to even know the name of the FCT minister just to tell you how docile and ineffective he has been. Under ElRufai, people respected the rule of law and never gone against the lay down rules as there were consequences for erring citizens. The reverse is the case today.

The supposed model for other cities in the country has now turned to a wasebin dumping ground for many people. The city is now stinking like an abattoir. Everywhere now smells like a rotten animal. Is this the Abuja we all know? FCT is now like a prison yard for whosoever cares to stay in the capital territory including the foreign nationals.

Moreso, the All Progressives Congress has lost its presence in the capital city as the custodian of the party as the Minister hasn't done his job properly. The recently conducted Local Council polls finally nailed the FCT Minister's cofin. How  can PDP be winning the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) election right under your nose. They went ahead to win in Bwari and Kuje area councils respectively. This is a slap on the minister's face and if he had any shame left in his system, he should have resigned by now.

Infrastructurally, the Federal government is taking care of the good things we are seeing in the FCT, what is Muhammad Bello doing with the FCT budget that he can't even over see the cleanliness of the capital city. Why is Abuja so dirty? I'm calling on the  Federal minister of Environment and the Senate committee on FCT to call the FCT Minister to account for all the shenanigans going on in his office.

In conclusion, I will advise his excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the minister outrightly and appoint a more competent and committed Nigerian who will give the Federal Capital Territory the beautification and the security it deserves.

Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria.

APC CONVENTION: THE PRESIDENT HAS SPOKEN  By Alhaji Jemil Usman (The Young Alhaji) I was over the moon when I read the all-important speech of President Muhammadu Buhari to the Progressive Governors forum where the President affirmed the consensus stand of the party. The unambiguous statement clearly stated that the infrastructural gains the APC government has been able to achieve cannot be compromised by being complacent.
