GOVERNOR UZODINMA IS THE NEW BEAMING LIGHT OF APC (By Alhaji Jemil Usman (The Young Alhaji))

 

In March 2021, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma invited the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria to commission some laudable projects executed by the Sen. Hope Uzodinma’s led administration in Imo State. The projects amongst many were the Federal Secretariat road named after President Buhari, and that of Port Harcourt road. The President notably said “I am happy about the positive development taking place in Imo state, especially in the area of infrastructure in the state, within a very short period of time just in one year. I am also happy to learn from Governor Uzodinma that the policies of our administration and the manifesto of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), have greatly influenced his resolve to make a difference in Imo State. I pray that you will keep the flag flying.”

The President added, “I call on Imo people to continue to support the Governor Uzodimma’s administration to provide more infrastructures to Imo people.” Truth be told, I wasn’t paying a serious attention when the president made those vital comments about a project and people-oriented governor. Governor Hope is not only a new beacon of hope to the people of Imo State; he has extended his sincerity of purpose, loyalty, doggedness and developmental principles to the national life of the All Progressives Congress.

Moreover, despite coming from the South East where the APC as a party has hitherto, relatively low supporters, but today with the support and the actions of the business minded governor of Imo State, the party’s support base is growing astronomically in the South Eastern geopolitical zone.

As a matter of fact, the government of His Excellency was founded on the democratic principles of open, transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance. The Imolites are now enjoying participatory governance unlike the previous administration that turned Imo State into a family affair business and became tyrant to those citizens he was meant to govern. A good example is the recovery of the K. O. Mbadiwe University for the Imo citizens. The University project that was built by the Imo State’s fund of about 40billion Naira was unscrupulously built in a family name before our Godsent Governor Uzodinma redeemed it for the entire Imolites.

In addition, through his selflessness and dedication to serve his people diligently, the Sen. Hope Uzodinma led administration has offset the humongous debt owed to the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) by the previous administration. This is done so the state government can focus its energy and resources in developing the states and moving it to the next level.

The State Civil Service has been revitalized. The Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC) has been resuscitated. The oil producing areas are now feeling the impact of a government in their states and many more projects in health and educational sectors are being currently executed in their communities. Like President Buhari said, his excellency the governor of Imo State is implementing the APC manifesto in his state and this has gladdened many Imo peoples’ hearts.

My advise is that the All Progressives Congress hierarchy should guard this golden egg of APC jealously so that he can continue to bring his experience and truthfulness to bear in moving the All Progressives Congress family to the next level.

APC CONVENTION: THE PRESIDENT HAS SPOKEN  By Alhaji Jemil Usman (The Young Alhaji) I was over the moon when I read the all-important speech of President Muhammadu Buhari to the Progressive Governors forum where the President affirmed the consensus stand of the party. The unambiguous statement clearly stated that the infrastructural gains the APC government has been able to achieve cannot be compromised by being complacent.
